Workshop issues and website launch
Sergey Kalachev
Due to the very difficult situation in the region, the payment processor PayPal has blocked the payment accounts of all Russian customers and merchants without the possibility of appealing the decision.
The Etsy marketplace, following PayPal, also initially restricted and later completely blocked the accounts of its customers and merchants/manufacturers in Russia, thereby depriving a significant number of independent entrepreneurs and artisans in most cases of the only way to sell their products on the global market.
My Etsy store was also suspended at first, with access to the store's personal account remaining and the ability to communicate with customers, close open orders and process refunds.
Later, Etsy was informed that access to my personal account would be blocked completely, depriving me of the ability to receive or respond to customer messages.
To my joy, if you can talk about joy at all in this situation, I managed to folfil and send all current orders until the Etsy account was completely blocked.
As a result, I was forced to move my activities to a separate independent website.
In connection with everything that happened, all channels of communication and sales of products were interrupted and the developments of recent years were lost.
I hope to get the site up and running as soon as possible and return to the international market. But it is still very difficult to say how quickly it will turn out to be done.
Despite all this, the costs of maintaining the work of the workshop have not gone away, I still need to pay the rent of production facilities, pay bills for electricity and pay off suppliers of materials and components.
If you want to support the work of the workshop in the development and production of beautiful musical instruments, you have the opportunity to make a donation. Your help now will be very helpful.
